Searle & Taylor maximised their presence at October’s Grand Designs Live! Show at the NEC in Birmingham with a prominent jointly branded stand at the entrance of the Grand Kitchens area together with other successful feature areas at the show.
Their stand featured three different dream kitchen styles and all of which incorporated the 2008 collection of De Dietrich cooking, cooling and dishwashing products to provide ‘real’ kitchen settings for consumers to touch, feel and envisage in their own homes. From the moment the doors opened at 10.00 a.m. every day, the stand was constantly busy and substantial orders were taken over the three days of the show.
Searle & Taylor is the sole distributor of EWE Kitchens, which is an award-winning Austrian brand. This was the first additional opportunity for the company to showcase the minimalist contemporary EWE designs to consumers since moving into their newly opened showroom in Ropley, Hampshire. With an example displayed on the Grand Kitchens stand, Searle & Taylor also created a £60,000 feature kitchen made from aptly named ‘Tiger Wood’ for the Celebrity Chef Demonstration area which also featured a worksurface made by Silestone. The kitchen showcased the De Dietrich appliances. Acclaimed chef, Mike Robinson performed two 45 minute cookery demonstrations each day of the three-day show, with over-capacity audiences every time he appeared to demonstrate his latest game and wild food recipes.
Celebrity presenter and designer, Kevin McCloud, whose long-running Channel 4 TV show is the inspiration behind the event, also visited the Celebrity Kitchen while Mike Robinson was performing, and displayed his own cooking prowess using De Dietrich Appliances. Kevin even signed one of the inside doors of the feature kitchen saying it was one of the best displays at the show!
