At Searle & Taylor we believe that a glass-fronted kitchen is both beautiful and unique, introducing an element of drama to a kitchen. There are not many kitchen companies that will create a full, bespoke, glass-fronted kitchen in any colour.
What makes our glass-fronted kitchens extra special is the stainless steel edging around the glass fronts. This is not only a beautiful design feature but protects the glass from chipping along the edges.
The 6mm glass is toughened and sprayed from behind which gives it it’s colour. We have 4400 different colours available. We are sure we have the perfect colour for your kitchen design.
If it’s a high gloss kitchen you are after, glass gives you a perfect reflection, you will not get the swirls & imperfections commonly found in a glossy lacquered kitchen.
Appliances can be integrated into a glass-fronted kitchen.
Glass-fronted kitchens are hard wearing, durable & look fantastic. We love them, come along to our Ropley showroom and have a look at what we can offer.
We have just received a very kind email from a gentleman who we have helped with a problem that he had in his kitchen last week.
“Our contact with your company was somewhat unusual. At the beginning of this week we had a potentially disastrous find in our kitchen in as much as we had water coming from an under floor pipe at the rear of our already built in larder cupboard and double oven.
Part of the solution was that the units in question had to be removed in order that a plumber could rectify the matter. We live not far from your premises in Ropley and my wife called in to your showroom on the off chance that you may be able to help. (At this stage we had no mains water supply to our property). She was greeted by Jeff who grasped the situation immediately and arranged for a kitchen fitter to call the following morning at 8.30.
The fitter in question, Andy, arrived on time, immediately grasped the gravity of the situation and what needed to be done. He removed the units in a couple of hours to allow the plumber to fix the problem. Once the leak was repaired a call to your office resulted in Andy returning after lunch and replacing the units. This was a level of service we have not experienced in a long time. I would have no hesitation in recommending you, your company and the staff we have encountered to anyone. From my wife’s visit to your showroom anyone wanting a quality kitchen with service to match should look no further.
Totally professional from start to finish – thank you. ”
Searle & Taylor are delighted to be stockists in Hampshire of the Quooker boiling water tap. This innovative kitchen essential renders traditional kettles out of date and is a fantastic addition to any kitchen.
Apart from the obvious uses of having 100C water available at the turn of a tap for your morning cup of tea, Quooker is perfect for blanching vegetables, peeling tomatoes, filling a pasta pan and poaching fish apart from the many other uses you will find.
The Quooker supplies on demand boiling water through a tap which is connected to a small tank, which is installed under a work surface or sink. The 3 litre tank is heavily insulated, linked to the water supply and heated electrically. The system has a safety catch to prevent children accidentally burning themselves.
There is the added advantage of being more environmentally friendly than boiling a kettle containing more water than you might actually need.
Take a look at this video we have filmed of the Quooker in action:
If you would like to know more about the Quooker range available – please call us on 01962 850 851 or come along to our Ropley showroom and we can give you a first hand demonstration … and a cup of tea!

Darren and Jeff have just returned from a trip to Linz in Austria to visit the new Ewe showroom and competence centre.
Ewe is Austria’s pioneering kitchen design company and we are delighted to be the sole agent in the UK for both the Ewe and Intuo ranges of contemporary kitchens.
The showroom is a 1600 sqm virtual environment and allows us to view the various brands available and really get a feeling for how the kitchens look, feel and work.
The Virtual Kitchen Design Studio is an innovative technology, which allows us to try out varying combinations of doors and worktops on screen. These selected images are then imposed onto furniture blanks – the end result is a 3D kitchen of your choice, with no limits to the combination of decor you can pick and choose from.
The space has provided us with real design inspiration.
Jeff was recently asked by Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom for his views on incorporating a breakfast bar into a kitchen design. At Searle & Taylor we believe that it is an essential element in current kitchen design trends.
Jeff says ” Most streamlined contemporary kitchens tend to be designed with three purposes in mind; to store food and kitchen items away from view to maintain the minimalist effect; to provide the perfect working triangle for the cook, with all essential elements close to hand; and as a place for friends and family to socialise.”
An island unit in a kitchen usually features the worktop cooking area so that the cook does not have his or her back turned away from their guests, as with previous traditional kitchen styles where all appliances were arranged around the perimeter of the room.
“A breakfast bar or peninsula as an extension of that island can be the ideal and space-effective solution for kitchens that are not necessarily part of an open-plan dining space.’ It can be the central place where guests and family can sit together, relax and chat.”

Intuo will be exhibiting the Island kitchen at KBB London, 2011. The layout of the Intuo Island Kitchen features two islands that separate two clearly defined zones; one for the cooking area and one for the food preparation and wet area.
Tall cupboards and pull out storage units comprise the length of the wall space behind the island units. The cabinets feature book-matched walnut doors and units that extend from floor to ceiling, with a louvered plinth beneath each unit.
The two islands feature 22mm granite worktops with matte lacquered cupboard fronts and side panels and will be featured in ‘Kashmir’; a neutral blonde colourway. Further pull out drawers incorporate Blum dynamic storage systems as standard.
The left hand island includes a raised stainless steel sink and minimalist drainer. Situated above is a hardened glass shelf with stainless steel supports that also incorporates a stainless steel lighting unit. The right hand unit is designed to feature a streamlined induction hob, or similar, with functional extraction overhead.
Come along and let us show you this spectacular kitchen at KBB London on the Intuo stand C40
Darren was recently interviewed for an article in the January issue of Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms magazine. The article gave design tips for making the most of space in smaller kitchens.
Darren’s advice is ” In smaller kitchens, we always recommend that customers opt for lighter colours and reflective finishes that will bounce light around the room and make it appear more airy. Handle less furniture with soft touch doors and drawers provides a seamless, streamlined quality, making the kitchen look and feel larger, while installing lighting under wall units and even behind splash backs and in cabinet plinths will help to illuminate the whole scheme and become a feature of the kitchen at night”
