Banquette Seating

At Searle & Taylor we have designed numerous projects that feature on-trend banquette seating in kitchens and other rooms in the home. Banquette seating is usually upholstered seating that is designed to fit perfectly in the specific space either in a bench-style fixed against a straight wall or in an L-shape, or against a specially created back panel. It can also be designed in a curve for corner recesses, or beneath a bay window. Dependent on the design, banquette seating can also be built with additional storage beneath the seat, opening upwards with piano hinges, with pull-out drawers, or open shelving.

Taking inspiration from restaurant design, the use of banquette seating can be a very space-efficient way to include an informal dining area in a kitchen or breakfast room with a made to measure table to complement. It can come in a range of styles, too. Shaker banquette seating will be set against beadboard or tongue and groove panelling that can be painted or left in its natural form.
