At Searle & Taylor, we design and make bespoke joinery for all rooms in the home, together with kitchens. Based in Hampshire, we regularly work on projects for properties in rural locations, and, over the years, we have become specialists in boot room design. Whether in a lobby or vestibule, or in a room of its own, we will ask all the right questions about your specific needs and requirements and then we will design your boot room.
We also specialise in joinery for utility rooms and bootility rooms that include a ‘dirty sink’ for washing down muddy boots, with laundry appliances concealed behind cabinetry doors. While immediate access to the outside is not always possible, a boot room is ideally located near a back door.
We design most boot rooms in a Shaker style because the aesthetic is clean and unfussy. However, we can create contemporary versions, if required. We recommend a boot room is painted as it will be more convenient to clean and maintain, and, over time, any scuffs and marks can be easily touched up.
Our Classic Bespoke boot room design will feature hidden storage under bench seating, with open pigeon hole storage for hats, scarves, gloves, umbrellas, dog leads, muddy shoes and of course, boots. We create wall mounted hooks to hang outerwear in smaller rooms or we install full hanging rails for coats and jackets in larger areas. We can also include top boxes for sports equipment such as equestrian or cycling helmets and we can also include drawers and baskets for additional storage. We also design boot rooms with plugs, phone chargers and sockets, and we will even create a special home for your robot vacuum cleaner.
Boot rooms are often designed around wall-mounted boilers and fuse boxes. We design beautiful bespoke joinery to cover the less appealing elements in the room and to maximise storage. If you are considering converting your lobby, hallway or a room into a boot room, then please talk to us about your requirements and we will create a space-efficient design for you.
